Advocacy
There are usually three different groups
of people involved in a IT / network management solution: the
company's technical staff, software vendors and consulting firms.
Each has a viewpoint on the solution itself.
No one knows more about a company's network than those charged
with maintaining it. This is often overlooked when decisions are
made about what management solution to implement. At The AXE Group,
the transfer of knowledge and skills to technical staff is an
integral part of any solution we design. A good analogy involves
cars: one does not need to know how to build a car to drive one.
We have been building solutions for years. We have hit the speed
bumps and been stopped by the roadblocks, so we know how to avoid
them. We build the cars, and then teach others how to drive and
maintain them.
Solutions to IT management problems do not exist without software.
Vendors can only offer products they sell (you almost never see
a software salesperson recommending any other product). The AXE
Group focuses on open-source tools due to their ROI,
but we are experienced with many proprietary products. It comes
down to the best tool for the best job. In addition, we can also
help you get the most performance out of tools you have already
purchased, perhaps augmented with open-source solutions.
The final group involved in a network management solution is consultants.
IT management is not easy, and it is often worthwhile to involve
outside expertise when developing a solution. But the danger lies
in consulting firms whose sole objective is to put "bodies
in seats". These "bodies" are expensive, and as
the scope widens and the project lengthens, the costs mount. Projects
proposed by The AXE Group are, if at all possible, set at a fixed
price for a fixed set of deliverables. This results in smaller,
more defined projects that have a better chance of success.
The AXE Group is determined to create a new player in the network
management space which may be a Mail Server, Internet Server,
Firewall, VPN, File Server, NMS Tools, Web Server: the customer
advocate. We are out to provide solutions in the best interests
of our clients, and to back them up with support.
We win when our customers win, and we believe that is the way
it should be.
